The programs in our Educational Studies suite develop your capacity to succeed in a world of rapid social and technological change where education is recognised as playing an increasingly important role.

They focus on the development of skills, understandings and attributes towards specialist abilities related to your chosen Fields of Study which may include:

  • Guidance, Counselling and Careers
  • Behaviour Management
  • Leadership
  • Supporting Diverse Learners
  • Curriculum

The most important considerations in choosing a program are:

  1. who you are
  2. what you want.

Masters degrees
Apply online for the 16 unit Master of Educational Studies (#16 MEdSt) if:
  • You have an Honours research degree in Education (or higher) and would like to undertake some professional development study towards a Master’s degree.
  • You have a teaching degree (Bachelor of Education or Graduate Diploma in Education) and have been teaching or working in an educational context for over 5 years.
Apply online for the 24 unit Master of Educational Studies (#24 MEdSt) if:
  • You have a degree in education in a similar discipline (or a similar Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma) with a minimum grade average of 4 and would like to undertake some professional development study towards a Master’s degree.
  • You have a degree outside of Education but have been teaching or working in an educational context for over 3 years
Apply online for the 32 unit Master of Educational Studies (#32 MEdSt) if:
  • You have a degree with a grade average of 4 and would like to undertake some professional development study towards a Master’s degree.
Apply online for the Graduate Certificate in Educational Studies if:
  • You would like to move into the education sector but your degree is not an education/teaching qualification.
  • You do not have a degree but have worked in the education sector for more than two years.
  • You are a practising teacher and would like to return to study but do not want to have to make a long term or heavy workload commitment.
