How to choose your program

The most important considerations in choosing a program are:

  1. who you are
  2. what you want.

Masters degrees
  • I have an honours degree in education (or a degree and a Graduate Diploma of Education) and would like to undertake some professional development study towards a Master’s degree.

Apply online for the 16 unit Master of Educational Studies (#16 MEdSt).

This is a one year full time course. 

  • I have a degree in education in a similar discipline (or a similar Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma) with a minimum grade average of 4 and would like to undertake some professional development study towards a Master’s degree.

  • I have a degree with a grade average of 4 and documentary evidence of two years full-time work experience (either paid or voluntary) in an educational context and would like to undertake some professional development study towards a Master’s degree.

Other postgraduate programs in educational studies
  • I would like to move into the education sector but my degree is not an education/teaching qualification.

The graduate certificate is an 8 unit (most commonly 4 courses) program – half year full time.

  • I am working in education (as a teacher or administrator) and would like to undertake further study for professional development.

The graduate diploma is a sixteen unit (#16) program (most commonly 8 courses) – one year full time. Up to #4 (two courses) of approved non-education postgraduate courses can be undertaken.
