How to publish in a Q1 journal
Abstract:
Associate Professor Rhonda Faragher will speak about her role as Co-Editor in Chief of the Journal of Policy and Practice in Intellectual Disabilities, a Q1 journal. Rhonda will help us understand what editors are looking for in article submissions, and how the process from submission to publication works for authors. You will learn tips and tricks on how to present your research project at various stages to a journal, and what level of rigour and academic quality is expected for a Q1 journal.
Bio:
Associate Professor Rhonda Faragher is the Co-Editor in Chief of the Journal of Policy and Practice in Intellectual Disabilities. She was made an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) in 2023 for her distinguished service to people with Down syndrome through research programs and education initiatives. Dr Faragher has been the Director of the Down Syndrome Research Program within the School of Education since 2016 and is an Associate Professor in Inclusive Education. She is also an appointed Board member to the Academy on Education, Teaching and Research of IASSIDD – the International Association for the Scientific Study of Intellectual and Developmental Disability, the Chair of the Down Syndrome Special Interest Research Group of IASSIDD, the Vice-President of Down Syndrome International and an Independent Director of Down Syndrome Australia.
