The University of Queensland, School of Education invites you to a Mathematics Workshop – Maths Grade 7 to 10 - Hands-on classroom activities that demonstrate how mathematics empowers the digital age.
Do your students ever ask: Why do we have to learn maths anyway? 
In this workshop, we will equip you with the tools you need to run two activities that demonstrate how mathematics empowers the digital age.  The activities are easy to customise to the level of skill and interest in the class.

Presenter: Vivian Lui, is a passionate high-school Mathematics teacher who currently works in the School of Mathematics and Physics as the Raybould Tutorial Fellow at The University of Queensland. She understands the demands of teaching as well as the effectiveness of providing students with engaging learning opportunities. Hence, Vivian is interested in developing and sharing ready-made, versatile and real-world related Maths activities with fellow colleagues.

Entrance to UQ is via Sir Fred Schonell Drive. Parking is available on University Drive, Campbell Road or Mill Road car parks. A number of public transport options are also available. Parking is free on weekends.
