The University of Queensland invites you to a practical workshop to assist teachers to include students with mathematics learning difficulties in primary and secondary classes. The workshop will present findings from research projects on mathematics education and Down syndrome with application to learners who are many years behind their age peers. Practical strategies for helping learners in an inclusive classroom will be shared. Interested parents are also welcome.
Presenter: Dr Rhonda Faragher is an internationally recognised expert in the mathematics education of learners with Down syndrome. She co-edited the book Educating Learners with Down Syndrome and recently prepared draft guidelines for the education of learners with Down syndrome for Down Syndrome International.
