The University of Queensland invites you to a Content and Language Integrated Learning Workshop (CLIL) for Heads of Language Departments, Languages Teachers and Principals/Deputy Principals. CLIL is a new approach to language teaching and connects all subject areas (e.g., science, history, maths) to a language-focused pedagogy.

The CLIL workshop will explore a key CLIL framework, the 4Cs model (Content, Communication, Cognition and Culture), and main ideas around implementing forms of CLIL in schools in Queensland (through bilingual programs, immersion programs, and CLIL Light programs).

Presenter: Dr. Simone Smala is a lecturer at the School of Education at the University of Queensland in the fields of Educational Psychology and Bilingual Education. She is an internationally known CLIL scholar.

Date: Saturday 25 May 2019.

Time: 8:00am for 8:30am – 11:30am (coffee and light refreshments served)

Entrance to UQ is via Sir Fred Schonell Drive. Parking is available on University Drive, Campbell Road or Mill Road car parks. A number of public transport options are also available. Parking is free on weekends.
