Are you in first, second, or third year and have concerns about prac? Are you in final year and feel you still have so much to learn? Well, fear no more! The UQ Education Society are bringing you a panel of well-renowned figures in Queensland Education to explain the challenges of the primary and secondary classrooms of the 21st century.
Our Semester Two Professional Development will take the form of three seminars by three different figures about three different aspects of teaching in Queensland. This will be followed by a Q&A session, where you will have the opportunity to pose questions to all three of our wonderful speakers - so come prepared!
Our three speakers are:
- Ms Jean Hamilton - Director of Studies (High School Preparation) at Whites Hill State College - topic: differentiating for students who speak English as a Second Language (E.S.L.) in lesson planning, assessment, and learnin
- Dr. Chirstina Gowlett - Lecturer in Education at the University of Queensland - topic: how to navigate the complex social, identity, and youth issues. such as gender and sexuality, that currently face school aged students today
- Mr. Cameron Howes - Head of Middle Schooling at St Paul's School - topic: behaviour management and strategies; and restorative practices.
