GDipEd applications for 2017 entry are closed

9 January 2017

Semester 1 2017 sees the final intake of students for our one year Graduate Diploma in Education (GDipEd) program. QTAC applications are closed for 2017 entry.

The GDipEd has had a long and varied life. It evolved into its current form in 2013. Prior to that it had been divided into Middle Years and Secondary specialisations. That iteration of the program began life on UQ’s Ipswich Campus over a decade ago.

We thank everyone involved in the creation and teaching of the GDipEd and all those who have graduated from it.

From 2018 the GDipEd will be replaced by the two year Master of Teaching (Secondary) program. This change answers both a growing student expectation of a higher degree qualification and market demand for new teachers with more training and practical experience behind them.

The Master of Teaching (Secondary) program is currently undergoing approval processes and is yet to be approved.
